In the present indicative the verbs that end with –CER and –CIR change -C for -ZC in the first person singular. The rest of the persons are conjugated like regular verbs.

 

Agradecer (to thank) Below are some more verbs with this conjugation.
Yo                          argradezco Conocer (to know)
Tú                          agradeces Pertenecer (to belong)
El                           agradece Traducir (to translate)
Ella                         agradece Reducir (to reduce)
Usted                     agradece Etc.
Nosotros                agradecemos  
Vosotros                 agradecéis  
Ellos                       agraceden  
Ellas                       agradecen  
Ustedes                 agradecen  

Note: When there is a consonant after the letter -C in these verbs, the change is just the -C into a -Z.

Vencer (to overcome)                  – yo venzo

Ejercer (exercise)                           – yo ejerzo

Convencer (to convince)             – yo convenzo

Surcir (to repair)                              – yo surzo

Etc.
